I have never heard of Children’s City in Dubai before researching our trip in June, it was highly recommended as a place kids have to visit from more than one source, and they were spot on. Children’s City is a governmental project, explained on their website as:
“The Dubai-based Children’s City is the first educational city in the UAE devoted to children between two and fifteen years old where they can investigate, explore, play, discover, and learn about the world in which we live.
The City is specially designed for children to interact and discover together in family and school groups. It contains several exhibits and programs like nature center, space exploration, human body, computer & communication, planetarium , the way we live and international culture as well as Toddlers area. In addition, Children’s City presents daily educational workshops throughout the year at the different galleries or in the purpose-built halls and entertainment programs at the Children’s City Theatre for school students, children and families.”
My kids had a blast, they enjoyed learning on models that were easy for them to understand, and were especially fascinated by the human body…
There were many area’s in the main facility, we stopped first at the human body, then headed to the IT section, then the UAE heritage, and then the planetarium were we went in to learn about the stars. It’s a shame we couldn’t take pictures inside, the kids expressions were epic!
There was a library in the middle with children’s books that were more suitable for the older kids, so I took my toddler to the play area which was very lovely and spacious. Hamad made friends and learned at the same time as there was an opportunity to learn something in everything displayed…
Outdoors, there was time to go horseback riding and even camel ride!
I absolutely recommend you take your kids to this wonderful place, the entry fee is unbelievably cheap, the place is well maintained, and everything inside (including play area’s) are free. My only dissatisfaction would be the food there, there was one cafeteria there with mainly fried food, so pack your lunch if you are heading there.
