What a whirlwind, fun, hectic, exciting summer! I personally went through all these emotions! Lol, the perks of having 3 boys under the age of 7! Planning a summer vacation with kids was a first for me, surprisingly, I always dreaded what they would be like (more like dreaded my biggest fear; one of my kids getting lost in a foreign country!). After a long discussion with my husband, we decided to do a test trip to Dubai, probably not a “summer vacation” destination, but it had enough fun and was an hour away…perfect.
We booked a villa with a pool with Dubai Holiday Villa’s (http://www.dubai-holiday-villa.com), Connie was a great with helping us book what we needed for the kids. The place was great, we arrived and found the fridge stocked, we didn’t need to rush and get groceries, and there was a houseboy that was on our service from 8 am to 6 pm. Everything went smoothly, and as expected, which is the most important thing for me when it comes to accommodation.
I did my research before travelling, and as common as Dubai seems, and as unusual as going there for 10 days is, I needed to make sure that it was worth it. the places I planned to visit are as follows:
- Atlantis (Obviously!)
- Wild Wadi WaterPark
- Yas WaterWorld
- Al-Ain Zoo
- Dubai Children’s City
- The Outlet Mall
- Dubai Mall (KidZania + Sega World)
In order to have some flexibility, some days were left “open” in case we needed to change something or decided to relax at the pool in our villa.
Was it worth it? The kids were upset that we were leaving, which, for me, means it was done well. Did my husband and I enjoy it? We are planning our vacation from the vacation! Lol!
I will be reviewing each place and my notes in the upcoming posts.
